Our Story

How we look at a concrete job

We pour and repair concrete for homeowners in and around Harrisburg, driveways, patios, walkways, steps and slabs. Most of us started this trade doing the physical work first, forms and finishing, before ever running a crew, so we still know what a bad pour looks like from the inside. That's the standard we hold every job to now.

If you're on this page, there's a good chance you've got a slab that's cracked, heaved, or sunk on one corner, or you're staring at bare dirt trying to figure out what a patio actually costs. A cracked slab is almost always a base problem, not a concrete problem, gravel that wasn't compacted right or water that's been undermining it for years. We dig out and rebuild the base before we ever pour, and we cut joints the same day we finish the slab so it cracks where we tell it to instead of wherever it wants.

Why Choose Us

What you get when you hire us

None of this is complicated. It is mostly just doing what we said we would do.

Licensed & Insured

Every job we take on is covered by insurance, so a cracked sprinkler line or a damaged fence panel during excavation is on us to fix, not you. Ask for certificates and we'll get them to you before the first truck shows up.

Written Quotes

Our quotes list the concrete mix, thickness, reinforcement and square footage, so there's no argument later about what you paid for. If site conditions change once we start digging, we tell you before we pour, not on the final invoice.

Our Own Crew

We don't hand your driveway off to a rotating list of subcontractors. The guys who walk your yard for the estimate are the same ones running the screed and the trowel on pour day.

Weather-Aware Scheduling

Concrete doesn't cure right below about 40 degrees, so we watch the forecast closely in fall and spring and reschedule if it's going to hurt the finish. You'll know a day or two out if a pour date shifts, not the morning of.

Finish Options

Not every job needs a stamped pattern or a colored finish, and we'll say so if a plain broom finish holds up just as well for less money. When you do want stamped or exposed aggregate, we walk you through what it adds to the timeline and the price first.

Local Knowledge

The clay soil common around Harrisburg heaves with frost in a way sandy soil doesn't, and it's a big reason driveways crack a couple winters in. We grade and compact for that before we ever set a form, because it's cheaper to fix in the base than in the slab.

Common Questions

Things people ask us

Questions about how we work and who's doing the pouring.

How long has Pacific Concrete Co been doing concrete work?
Pacific Concrete Co is an experienced concrete contractor serving the Harrisburg, PA area, with a crew that has handled driveways, patios and repair work across a range of property types and soil conditions.
Do you use your own crew or subcontractors?
Pacific Concrete Co runs its own crew for forming, pouring and finishing, rather than subcontracting the work out to a different company. The people who quote a job are the same people who show up to pour it.
Can I see examples of past concrete work?
Photos of completed driveways, patios and repair jobs are available on request, and pointing out a specific style, like a stamped pattern or a broom finish, helps match an estimate to what's actually wanted. Local jobs in the Harrisburg area can sometimes be viewed in person with the homeowner's permission.
Why choose a smaller concrete contractor instead of a large paving company?
A smaller concrete contractor typically means direct contact with the actual crew doing the work, rather than going through a call center or a rotating project manager. Scheduling also tends to be more flexible, since decisions get made on-site rather than through several layers of a large company.
Where is Pacific Concrete Co based?
Pacific Concrete Co is based in Harrisburg, PA and works throughout the surrounding area, generally within about a fifty-mile radius.
How far in advance do I need to book a concrete job?
Spring and fall are the busiest seasons for concrete work due to ideal curing weather, so booking two to four weeks ahead is typical during those times. Winter and midsummer often have more open scheduling, though extreme cold or heat can affect pour timing.
Do you clean up the site after a concrete job is finished?
Cleanup includes removing excess concrete, broken-out debris, forms and any leftover material from the site once a pour or repair is complete. The work area is left graded and reasonably tidy, not just the concrete itself.
What happens if something gets damaged on my property during the work?
Pacific Concrete Co carries liability insurance that covers damage to a driveway, fence, sprinkler line or other property caused during concrete work. Any incident is addressed directly with the homeowner rather than left as a dispute.
Will you finish a concrete job that another contractor started or abandoned?
Taking over a partially finished concrete job is possible, though it usually requires inspecting the existing forms, base and any poured sections first to see what condition they're in. In some cases, work that was started incorrectly needs to be removed before continuing, which affects the cost of finishing it.
How can I tell if concrete work is being done correctly while it's in progress?
Correct concrete work includes properly compacted base material before the pour, control joints cut within hours of finishing, adequate slope for drainage, and observed curing time before the surface takes weight or traffic. Asking the crew on-site about joint spacing, mix strength and cure time are reasonable questions during any concrete project.
